Civil Construction Estimator

Job Description
The Civil construction estimator position must have a minimum of 5+ years experience as a civil construction estimator with DOT experience a must. The estimator will be responsible for estimating the cost of projects and materials as well as working with a variety of team members, including construction crews, purchasing agents, and other managers to determine how much it will cost to complete a project in a timely manner.
This position requires a strong understanding of:
- Asphalt paving
- Site grading
- Earthwork
- Storm drainage
- Underground utilities
- Erosion control
- Concrete and site improvements
- Ability to read and interpret civil engineering plans and specifications
- Experience performing quantity takeoffs
A candidate’s key skills and qualifications include:
- Proficiency in math, statistics, data analysis, and analytical
- Strategic planning skills
- Familiarity with developing material and cost estimates for large projects
- Expertise with analytic tools, such as spreadsheets and project management software
- Strong computer, communication, and organization skills
- Ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously
