Automation Engineer

Salary: $77,000 - 117,000 per year Requirements:

• We require a bachelors degree in electrical engineering, automation engineering, or a closely related technical discipline.
• We need at least 3 years of experience in an electrical or process control setting.
• We prefer familiarity with cement process operations.
• We are looking for a strong background in HMI, PLCs, and instrumentation.
• We value solid process control and electrical expertise, with a focus on improving efficiency and performance.
• We require the ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and P&ID drawings.
• We expect proven experience with PLC logic and programming, along with HMI systems and related hardware/software.
• We need the ability to operate data acquisition and analysis systems and software.

• We design and develop control systems and software applications, while implementing and refining automation processes.
• We maintain and troubleshoot control systems, machinery, and Siemens-based platforms, including PLC/PC controllers and industrial networks.
• We write, debug, and update HMI and Siemens PLC programs, including logic and process control changes within a cement manufacturing environment.
• We carry out preventive and predictive maintenance to improve system reliability and equipment performance.
• We develop and manage maintenance schedules for system hardware and software.
• We keep detailed records of repairs and changes to control logic.
• We maintain the plant computer network and servers.
• We collaborate with other departments to support plant automation and process optimization.
• We communicate with suppliers, contractors, engineering firms, and technical personnel across the plant and company.
• We participate in a rotating on-call schedule to support plant needs.
• We take on special projects assigned by the Maintenance or Production Manager.
• We provide coverage for the CEMs Technician when needed.
• We work effectively in a team environment.
• We use AutoCAD as needed to update drawings.
