IT Infrastructure Engineer

Sseeking an experienced DB2 Database Administrator to support mission-critical financial, payroll, and pension systems. This role focuses on DB2 v12 or higher in an IBM z/OS environment and includes database administration, release support, performance tuning, recovery, troubleshooting, and high-availability operations.
- Install, configure, maintain, and tune DB2 databases on IBM z/OS.
- Execute standard database maintenance procedures, including RUNSTATS and REORGs.
- Define and perform database backup and recovery functions.
- Monitor database health, logging, recovery processes, and system response times.
- Support application development teams with software releases, production migrations, and data fixes.
- Troubleshoot DB2 issues affecting online and batch programs across production, user acceptance, integration, performance testing, and development environments.
- Prepare and validate procedures for database administration and production migration activities.
- Identify DB2 program issues and implement required updates or modifications.
- Support systems teams with tool upgrades and disaster recovery exercises.
- Open, track, and manage IBM support tickets through resolution.
- Design and execute technical tests for vendor and internal software releases.
- Administer IBM InfoSphere Data Replication and help maintain high availability for critical financial systems.
- Proven experience supporting DB2 v12 or higher on IBM z/OS.
- Strong experience with DB2 installation, configuration, tuning, backup, recovery, logging, RUNSTATS, and REORGs.
- Experience supporting production migrations, release deployments, data fixes, and database troubleshooting.
- Experience working with both online and batch processing environments.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field plus at least four years of relevant experience in datacenter, cloud, or complex IT infrastructure engineering; or
- Bachelor's degree in another field plus at least eight years of relevant experience; or
- An equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience with IBM InfoSphere Data Replication is strongly preferred.
- Experience with disaster recovery, performance testing, and IBM support case management is preferred.
