Centralized Scheduler

Position Summary: The Centralized Scheduler is responsible for the pre-certifications and scheduling of hospital services for patients when physician's orders are internal, telephoned, faxed or brought in by the patient. Other duties include but are not limited to: obtaining insurance authorizations; patient pre-registrations; verifying that the diagnosis provided and testing orders meets Medicare Coverage Policy prior to scheduling in an effort to reduce denials by Medicare; performs all duties in compliance with the applicable laws and regulations and within the CAH&C Compliance Program. Department: Patient Access Status: Full-Time, 40 hours per week, Non-Exempt, Days Education Requirements: High School Diploma or GED; one to three months related experience; and/or equivalent combination of education and experience. Market Range: $16.00 - $26.00 / Hour Competencies and Skills: Customer Service oriented, computer skills, ability to learn various software programs.
