Job Summary

A respected commercial general contractor in Broward County is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator for a direct hire opportunity supporting ground-up commercial construction projects throughout South Florida. This full-time, 100% on-site role may be based in Sunrise or Deerfield Beach and offers long-term stability, a strong professional culture, and the opportunity to play a key role in winning and launching high-profile commercial and industrial projects.

The Senior Estimator will lead preconstruction estimating efforts from conceptual budgeting through final bid submission, partnering closely with project managers, superintendents, executive leadership, owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers. This is an excellent fit for a detail-oriented estimating professional with a stable background in commercial general contracting and deep knowledge across all CSI divisions.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the estimating process for ground-up commercial construction projects from conceptual budgets through final bid submission.
- Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs and comprehensive cost estimates across all CSI construction divisions.
- Solicit, evaluate, level, and negotiate subcontractor and supplier proposals.
- Develop conceptual, schematic, design development, negotiated, hard bid, and GMP estimates.
- Review architectural, structural, civil, MEP, geotechnical, specification, and contract documents to identify scope gaps, risks, and cost impacts.
- Partner with operations and executive leadership on bid strategy, value engineering, procurement planning, and project handoff.

Compensation and Benefits

- Salary range: $125,000 to $150,000 per year.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Lead estimating for ground-up commercial construction projects from early budgeting through award.
- Prepare accurate cost estimates, quantity takeoffs, bid packages, and GMP proposals.
- Evaluate subcontractor scopes, pricing, exclusions, qualifications, and proposal completeness.
- Support preconstruction planning, value engineering, procurement strategy, and project handoff.

- Minimum 7 years of estimating experience with a reputable commercial general contractor.
- Strong experience estimating ground-up commercial construction projects, including large commercial and/or industrial projects.
- Extensive knowledge of CSI divisions, including site development, earthwork, utilities, structural concrete, masonry, structural steel, building envelope, roofing, interior finishes, MEP systems, specialties, and final trades.
- Experience preparing conceptual budgets, hard bids, negotiated proposals, and GMP estimates.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, civil, and MEP drawings, specifications, geotechnical reports, and contract documents.
- Strong understanding of construction means and methods, scheduling, sequencing, cost control, and scope coordination.
- Proficiency with estimating software, Bluebeam, Microsoft Excel, and other preconstruction tools.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, analytical, organizational, and relationship-building skills.
- Detail-oriented, professional, collaborative, and able to work effectively with internal teams, owners, designers, subcontractors, and suppliers.

Preferred Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Building Construction, or a related field.
- Experience working for established Florida commercial general contractors.
- Strong knowledge of the South Florida subcontractor, supplier, labor, and material pricing market.
- Experience estimating large commercial and industrial projects such as industrial facilities, manufacturing facilities, distribution centers, warehouses, office buildings, multifamily, healthcare, education, hospitality, municipal, and mixed-use developments.
- Stable career history with reputable commercial general contractors.
- Proven success estimating projects from preconstruction through award.
