IT Security & Infrastructure Leader - ManufacturingLocation: Farmington Hills, MIWork Arrangement: Hybrid (3-4 days per week in office), local candidates only pleaseSalary: Up to $145,000 base depending on experience and skills, plus bonusTravel: 15-20%We are seeking an experienced IT Security & Infrastructure Leader to own the design, security, and reliability of our core IT infrastructure. This role serves as the technical owner of key infrastructure and security platforms, including Zscaler, Nutanix, and Cisco Meraki, while providing governance and oversight for the Microsoft 365 environment, including Entra ID, Intune, SharePoint, and Copilot.Working closely with the Senior Director of IT, this individual will lead infrastructure strategy, security governance, vendor accountability, and automation initiatives while serving as the primary escalation point above the Managed Service Provider (MSP).Responsibilities:Security & Governance:- Establish security policies and governance for Microsoft 365 and Entra ID, including conditional access, MFA, identity protection, and compliance standards.- Own Intune compliance and configuration policies while overseeing MSP-executed device management activities.- Define SharePoint governance, site provisioning standards, and permission structures.- Lead security and licensing governance for Copilot deployment and adoption.Infrastructure Management:- Administer and optimize the Zscaler environment, including secure access policies and connectivity.- Manage the Nutanix HCI platform, including capacity planning, patching, performance monitoring, and disaster recovery validation.- Own and maintain the Cisco Meraki network environment, including switching, wireless, SD-WAN, and firewall policies.- Ensure reliable infrastructure performance, security, and connectivity across multiple locations.MSP & Technical Leadership- Serve as the primary internal escalation point for the MSP across Microsoft 365, infrastructure, and security platforms.- Monitor service performance, review ticket trends, and ensure vendor accountability against service-level expectations.- Partner with IT leadership on infrastructure architecture, cybersecurity initiatives, and risk management.Automation & Modernization:- Support SysAid implementation and Workato-based automation initiatives.- Assist with integrations involving identity management, infrastructure, monitoring, and business systems.- Evaluate AI-driven monitoring and automation technologies that improve operational efficiency and scalability.Security Operations & Business Continuity:- Lead vulnerability management, patch compliance, and remediation efforts across servers, endpoints, and network devices.- Maintain, document, and test backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity procedures.- Develop and maintain architecture documentation, security standards, and operating procedures.- Support ERP infrastructure and connectivity requirements while coordinating with business application owners.Vendor Management:- Participate in vendor selection, contract reviews, and renewal discussions for infrastructure and security solutions.- Ensure technical requirements are met and maintain oversight of vendor-delivered services.Requirements:- 5+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering, security engineering, or IT infrastructure leadership.- Experience supporting Infrastructure in a Manufacturing environment, preferably multi-site.- Strong understanding of Microsoft 365, Entra ID security and governance, including conditional access, identity management, and compliance controls.- Experience with Zscaler or a comparable secure access/security service edge platform.- Experience managing hyperconverged infrastructure environments, preferably Nutanix.- Experience administering Cisco Meraki or similar enterprise networking technologies.- Strong knowledge of vulnerability management, patching, endpoint security, and incident response fundamentals.- Experience working effectively with managed service providers and third-party vendors.- Excellent documentation, communication, and organizational skills.Preferred Skills:- Experience supporting ERP platforms, preferably Plex Smart Manufacturing Platform.- Exposure to Workato, SysAid, or similar automation and ITSM platforms.- Relevant certifications such as Security+, Microsoft SC-300/SC-200, or Nutanix NCP.- Experience supporting SaaS integrations and business-critical applications.- Background helping build or mature IT infrastructure within a growing or newly independent organization.What Success Looks Like:Within the first six months, the successful candidate will:Establish and document governance standards for Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune, SharePoint, and Copilot.Assume full ownership and documentation of Zscaler, Nutanix, and Meraki environments.Build a structured, accountable relationship with the MSP, including clear escalation procedures.Help deliver the SysAid rollout and support implementation of key automation initiatives.Develop and validate a documented backup and disaster recovery strategy for core infrastructure.Why Join Us?This is a high-impact opportunity to lead critical infrastructure and cybersecurity initiatives while helping modernize IT operations through automation, governance, and emerging technologies.
