About the Position

Job Title: Travel RN - ICU Profession: RN Specialty: ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 19:00 - 07:00 Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Active RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH Must-Have: - Minimum 1 year of current acute care hospital ICU experience - Candidates without these skills will not be considered for the role Description: This is a travel RN position in the ICU. The unit has 21 beds and a staff of 45. During the day shift, there is 1 charge nurse with no patient assignment and 6-8 nurses. The night shift maintains the same structure. Patient ratios are 2:1 for standard ICU care. Step down status will have a 3:1 ratio, and high acuity cases may require 1:1 care. Equipment on the unit includes Hospira IV pumps, and the EMR system is Meditech. Candidates with cardiac experience and CRRT knowledge are preferred. Typical procedures performed on the unit include intubation, central line insertion, bronchoscopy, endoscopy, vasopressor IV drip titration, and ventilator management. Care provided includes treatment for sepsis, arrhythmias, and medical/surgical critical care patients. The ideal candidate will be team-oriented and possess a good sense of humor. The position requires working every third weekend and one major winter holiday. Self-scheduling is available, and there is a need to float to telemetry and other facilities as necessary. This is a small community hospital with a focus on elective patients. The unit holds Magnet designation and has an intensivist in the ICU 24/7.
