The Town of Abingdon, Virginia Police Department is seeking a police officer for its patrol division. Candidates will be required to meet the qualifications and will receive a competitive salary and benefits package. Qualifications United States citizen At least twenty‑one years of age High school diploma or GED Good physical condition; vision correctable to 20/20 Valid driver’s license with a good driving record and positive point balance Preference for applicants currently holding DCJS Law Enforcement Officer Certification in Virginia May be required to undergo WorkSTEPS Functional Employment Testing Compensation and Benefits Starting salary is $53,148.00 for uncertified applicants; certified officers will be determined by experience.
