Job Description

Position Summary

The Facilities & Shop Technician supports Samson Skyoperations and prototype vehicle development by participating in a respectfuland collaborative workplace; maintaining safe, clean, orderly, and operationalfacilities and shop areas; caring for tools, equipment, parts, and consumables;troubleshooting facility, shop, and prototype systems; and assistingengineering, fabrication, assembly, and R&D testing activities. Theposition requires a can-do mindset, adaptability, accurate documentation,practical problem solving, and consistent attention to safety, cleanliness,reliability, accuracy, and work quality.

• • Conduct routine facility and shop inspections; identify andaddress safety, maintenance, cleanliness, and operational deficiencies.
• • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and troubleshootor repair mechanical, pneumatic, plumbing, lighting, and basic electricalsystems within the employee’s training and authorization.
• • Manage maintenance and shop tools, spare parts,consumables, and inventory; identify replenishment needs and supportprocurement or vendor coordination when assigned.
• • Set up, operate as authorized, and maintain shop-supportand fabrication equipment such as CNC machines, welders, lifts, and generalfabrication tools.
• • Support R&D operations, including test setup, teardown,equipment staging, workspace readiness, and data collection assistance.
• • Work with engineering and fabrication teams to build, test,evaluate, and refine vehicle systems.
• • Assist with prototype assembly, modification, fabrication,and integration, including structural, mechanical, and electrical systems.
• • Complete assigned facility and prototype-build tasks inaccordance with the project plan, drawings, instructions, and safetyrequirements.
• • Maintain accurate inspection, maintenance, equipment,inventory, prototype-build, and test records.
• • Coordinate facility access and provide on-site support forqualified vendors and service providers.
• • Participate in facility and shop improvement projects,including layout changes, equipment installation, workspace modifications, andinfrastructure upgrades.
• • Communicate facility conditions, equipment failures, repairstatus, project progress, and operational limitations to affected personnel.

Valuable Final Product

Clean, orderly, safe, and operational facilities and shopareas maintained with maximum clean/up time and minimum dirty/down time,together with well-documented and accurate prototype assembly, fabrication, andtesting work completed.

Physical and Work Environment Requirements

This is a hands-on position in an R&D, fabrication, vehicle build,and facility maintenance environment. The employee must be able to performphysical work, lift reasonable weight, climb ladders, work at heights whenrequired, safely use appropriate personal protective equipment and tools, andcommunicate on a technical level. Duties and priorities may change as facility,prototype, and operational needs evolve.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

• • 2+ years of experience in facility maintenance, industrialmaintenance, mechanical repair, shop support, vehicle assembly, fabrication, ora related hands-on role.
• • Strong mechanical aptitude and practical troubleshootingskills.
• • Working familiarity with HVAC, plumbing, lighting,electrical, pneumatic, mechanical, and general building systems.
• • Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, shop equipment,and applicable safety practices.
• • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, equipmentdocumentation, blueprints, drawings, and schematics.
• • Ability to perform physical work, lift reasonable weight,climb ladders, and work comfortably at heights when required.
• • Self-motivated, organized, and able to work independentlyor collaboratively as priorities evolve.
• • Computer literacy, valid driver’s license, and reliabletransportation.
