Machine Maintenance Technician

Position Summary The Maintenance Technician is responsible for supporting all building, facility, production equipment, and machinery maintenance activities. This position performs preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment and facility systems to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operations. The Maintenance Technician will troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, CNC, and automated production equipment while supporting continuous improvement initiatives throughout the facility. Equipment & Machine Maintenance Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and installation of production machinery and equipment. Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and automation-related equipment issues. Troubleshoot and repair CNC machines, including machine controls, drives, motors, sensors, tooling systems, and associated equipment. Troubleshoot electrical systems including single-phase and three-phase power distribution, motors, motor controls, relays, contactors, VFDs, sensors, and PLC-controlled equipment. Perform preventative and predictive maintenance activities according to established schedules. Assist with or independently complete machine repairs utilizing schematics, blueprints, manuals, and technical documentation. Support the installation, startup, relocation, and commissioning of new and existing machinery and equipment. Maintain accurate maintenance records, repair documentation, and preventative maintenance logs. Utilize diagnostic equipment and troubleshooting techniques to identify root causes of equipment failures. Facility Maintenance Perform general facility maintenance including plumbing, painting, HVAC support, lighting repairs, grounds maintenance, snow removal, and building upkeep. Assist with maintaining facility infrastructure to ensure safe and efficient operations. Manufacturing Support Fabricate and build fixtures, brackets, guards, shelves, chutes, oil deflectors, slug shields, and other items that improve equipment performance, safety, and productivity. Work closely with production, engineering, quality, and other departments to minimize downtime and improve operational efficiency. Communicate effectively with internal teams, equipment manufacturers, contractors, and suppliers to support maintenance activities and repair efforts. Safety & Compliance Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment utilizing 5S principles. Follow all company safety policies, environmental requirements, lockout/tagout procedures, and maintenance best practices. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and support efforts to improve equipment reliability and overall plant performance. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Education & Experience High School Diploma, GED, vocational certificate, technical certification, apprenticeship, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of three (3) years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment. Experience troubleshooting and repairing production equipment and machinery. Experience working with mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, machine manuals, and technical drawings. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. Working knowledge of industrial electrical systems including single-phase and three-phase equipment. Experience troubleshooting motors, motor controls, sensors, relays, contactors, VFDs, and PLC-controlled equipment. Experience diagnosing and repairing CNC machinery and automated manufacturing equipment. Knowledge of preventative and predictive maintenance practices. Understanding of industrial safety requirements including Lockout/Tagout procedures. Ability to use hand tools, power tools, measuring instruments, and maintenance diagnostic equipment. Welding, fabrication, machining, and metalworking experience preferred. Knowledge of plastic injection molding equipment, stamping equipment, or other manufacturing machinery is preferred. Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team. Physical Requirements and Work Environment Ability to lift at least 25 lbs. Must be able to move freely within the office and work area. Requires independence, sound judgment, and discretion in performing job duties. Great hand and eye coordination. Exposure to noise, dust, and metal particles in a manufacturing setting. Standing, bending, lifting, and working with hands for extended periods. Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
