Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Active RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: Cardiac knowledge preferred Description: We are seeking a Registered Nurse specializing in Telemetry. The unit consists of 30 beds with a patient ratio of 5-6:1. Our team includes unit clerks, patient care technicians, nursing supervisors, and hospitalists. We utilize various types of equipment, including Welch Allyn vitals monitors, Novameters, and Philips telemetry systems. Documentation is managed through a Meditech system. Medication management includes using workstations on wheels and a dispensing system. The scheduling will require weekend shifts every other week, amounting to four weekend shifts within a four-week schedule. Floating to other medical-surgical areas may occur if the skill mix is necessary. The position involves meeting patient experience requirements, including bedside and hourly rounding. Charge nurses on the day shift have extensive experience, ensuring strong leadership. We practice shared governance at the unit level, encouraging staff input and engagement. No artificial or gel nails are permitted, and specific dress codes apply for nursing staff. Documentation requirements include telemetry application and rhythm strip acknowledgment for patient charts. The unit emphasizes a culture of safety and accountability with guidelines for alarm management. Recognition and awards within the unit, such as the Daisy and Bee Awards, reflect dedication to patient care.
