Instrument and Controls TechnicianColorado Springs, COSchedule: Full time, on site in Colorado Springs, CO. Occasional travel and after-hours support may be required.Compensation: $50 to $60 per hourThis is an opportunity to join the operations and maintenance team at a simple cycle gas power plant, reporting to the Operations and Maintenance Manager. The role covers operations, testing, maintenance, and administrative work on a distributive control system (DCS) and associated field devices, including the Continuous Emission Monitoring System (CEMS).What You'll DoThis role administers processes and procedures for the plant's control and instrumentation systems, including identifying and implementing on-condition tasks, evaluating recommended changes based on cost and benefit, and specifying instrument and electrical changes as needed. The technician computes and analyzes test data, uses installed and portable test equipment along with technical manuals to troubleshoot equipment and systems, and monitors and reviews system startup procedures to determine control and electrical support needs. Day to day work includes routine and non-routine preventative and corrective maintenance on plant equipment, calibration and repair of plant instrumentation and control devices, and maintenance of calibration, test, and certification records for electrical and instrument equipment. The technician reviews P&ID drawings and logic diagrams, creates procedures related to instrumentation and electrical systems, and communicates the condition of plant systems and equipment to other personnel. The role also includes maintenance and upkeep of site buildings and grounds, operation of plant mobile equipment such as forklifts and man lifts, and support of other plant personnel as needed. Technicians hired into this role are required to complete the O&M Tech I qualification process within two years of their hire date.Required QualificationsTwo year technical degree and a minimum of 5 years of power plant and/or industrial electrical, instrumentation, or electronics experience, or significant equivalent experience in lieu of a degreeAbility to interpret control drawings and P&IDsAbility to make maintenance related decisions with minimal direct supervisionKnowledge of instrumentation test equipment, including signal generators, relay test sets, and oscilloscopesStrong verbal and written communication skillsBasic computer proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPointValid U.S. driver's license with an acceptable MVR historyPreferred QualificationsExperience with Distributed Control Systems (DCS), including GE Mark VI and ABB Bailey INFI 90Experience with various PLC controllersExperience with Teledyne Monitor Labs CEMS controls and equipment, including programming and configurationKnowledge of combined cycle power plant systems, operations, and maintenanceKnowledge of CEM system hardware, software, and reportingCompensation and BenefitsMedical, dental, and vision insurance401kPaid time offTo apply, please submit your resume as a PDF or Word document.
