Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Overview:


The Mortgage Loan Originator originates mortgage loans by developing and maintaining client referral relationships while leveraging consultative sales skills to assist borrowers in realizing and meeting their financial goals.


Essential Responsibilities:

• Assist mortgage loan borrowers to determine their needs and recommend the most beneficial loan products, while advising and guiding them throughout the entire loan process
• Review financial information from borrowers pertaining to Refinance, Purchase, Construction/Rehab, Secondary Market loans, FHA, and VA loans
• Maintain an active knowledge base of all GECU's loan products
• Ensure loans meet current secondary market standards along with GECU portfolio guidelines
• Prepare initial loan disclosures for borrower review in accordance with Federal Regulations
• Monitor loan pipeline daily to ensure required documentation is received in a timely manner
• Maintain working relationships with team members
• Develop relationships with realtors, builders, financial professionals and sales agents to generate referrals for mortgage loans
• Maintain the required NMLS Registration
• Must be detail-oriented and capable of prioritizing work responsibilities in an organized manner
• Engage in continuing education as needed
• Performs other duties as assigned
• Must understand and comply with all required federal and state regulations associated with this position.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or GED required
• At minimum, one year of experience in mortgage lending

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to organize and analyze financial information
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
