Admissions & Disposition Clerk
Location: Mike O'Callahan Military Medical Center (MOMMC), Nellis AFB Las Vegas, NV Schedule: MondayFriday | 8?hour shifts between 07001900
Position Summary
The Admissions and Disposition Clerk manages patient admissions, transfers, and discharges in a military hospital setting. This role serves as a key point of contact for patients and families while ensuring accurate documentation, data entry, and compliance with DoD and HIPAA requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Admit patients by greeting visitors, verifying identification and insurance, and creating patient records
- Coordinate patient discharges and transfers, ensuring documentation is complete and accurate
- Update electronic health records (EHR) and scan required forms
- Track patient status and bed availability
- Explain patient rights, obtain consent signatures, and assist patients in high?pressure situations
- Review required documentation (e.g., AF Form 577 or equivalent) during inpatient stays
Qualifications
- High school diploma or G.E.D. required
- Experience in a medical office, hospital, insurance, or clerical role preferred
- Proficiency with computer systems and EHR platforms
- Knowledge of medical terminology and privacy regulations
- Strong communication, organization, and customer service skills
- Ability to obtain and maintain base access to Nellis AFB
