Security Specialist/Investigator I

As an Individual Contributor, this role performs core Corporate Security operations, including incident evaluation, security coordination, and protection activities. The position analyzes security events, administers key components of the Security Program, and contributes to maintaining effective physical security, compliance, and risk mitigation practices.

Responsibilities

• Specialist:

  Incident Evaluation and Investigation: Evaluates incoming security incidents by reviewing facts, evidence, and documentation, and records findings in the incident management system. Determines appropriate escalation and initiates notifications to relevant stakeholders. Coordinates assignment or follow-up actions as needed.

• Security Program Administration: Coordinates security program activities, including overseeing the installation, maintenance, and testing of security systems such as surveillance and alarm monitoring. Maintains procedures and ensures alignment with operational requirements. Partners with vendors and internal teams to resolve issues.

• Law Enforcement Coordination: Coordinates with law enforcement agencies by facilitating reporting, information exchange, and evidentiary support. Manages documentation related to subpoenas and legal requests and prepares materials for investigative or legal use. Reinforces compliance with regulatory and legal requirements.

• Executive and Physical Security Operations: Executes security measures for executive protection, board meetings, and elevated risk scenarios, including access control and coordination of contracted security personnel. Supports executive transportation needs, including providing driving services when required. Maintains readiness to respond to security risks impacting executive operations.

• Security Monitoring and Risk Assessment: Monitors security conditions and identifies potential risks or vulnerabilities, contributing to assessments and recommending control improvements. Maintains awareness of emerging threats and security trends. Applies established protocols to address routine security concerns.

• Investigator:
• Incident Investigation and Analysis: Investigates security-related incidents within the assigned region, gathers and documents evidence, and identifies crime conducive conditions. Supports recommendations that contribute to loss prevention and recovery efforts involving fraudulent activities.
• Case Documentation and Reporting: Maintains accurate and timely records of investigations throughout the case lifecycle. Generates clear and comprehensive reports to support internal review and legal requirements. • Security Awareness and Training: Coordinates and delivers security training sessions to employees to promote awareness of fraud schemes and reinforce safe practices. Supports efforts to strengthen organizational understanding of security protocols and risk prevention.
• Law Enforcement Coordination: Supports collaboration with law enforcement agencies by assisting with subpoenas, documentation, and case-related inquiries. May provide testimony as required.
• Branch Security Reviews and Compliance Support: Assists in conducting branch reviews to evaluate physical security measures and identify improvement opportunities. Supports adherence to regulatory guidelines and internal standards.
• Performs other responsibilities and duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, security management, or a related field. Equivalent combination of education, certifications, or relevant experience may be considered.

• Minimum 2 years of experience in security operations, law enforcement, military police, or a related field involving public interaction.

• Basic knowledge of alarm monitoring, access control, Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) systems, and fire reporting systems, including associated software and applications.

• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.

• Intermediate knowledge and skill proficiency in communication, customer experience, decision making & judgement, and technology literacy.

• Basic knowledge of analytical thinking, corporate security, investigation, laws & regulations, and risk management.

• Demonstrated ability to organize information, manage priorities, and respond effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism.

• Possesses a valid driver’s license and operates company vehicles in support of job responsibilities while ensuring safe operation of vehicles and equipment. Able to commute for off-site assignments, emergency response, and varying work locations, work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call support, and obtain and maintain First Aid and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) certifications.
