Health Information Services Release of Information Specialist The Release of Information (ROI) Specialist is responsible for processing all releases of medical record information requests in a timely and efficient manner, ensuring accuracy and providing customers with the highest quality product and customer service. The ROI Specialist greets and provides a variety of customer support services to patients and visitors at BMAC, as well as assistance to physicians, hospitals, insurance companies, attorneys’ offices, and other requestors of protected health information. Create work orders for release of information requests. Receive billing payments and process financial assistance applications. Notarize legal documents. Act as greeter for the 3rd floor BMAC. Assist patients with the patient portal process. Position Requirements Education High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Post–high‑school education in health‑care related subjects, such as records management, medical terminology, computer classes, use of office equipment (fax machine, copy machine, multi‑line phone system) preferred. Experience Two years of experience in a Health Information Management field or as an administrative assistant in a healthcare setting preferred. Proven customer service experience and/or training. Effective use of computer software and technology including Microsoft Word and Excel. Experience with electronic health record systems, Meditech, PACS imaging system for producing CDs/DVDs, release of information software, and various types of office equipment preferred.
