About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse (RN) Specialty: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 2+ years of experience required License: Active Ohio/OH or Compact RN License Certifications: Active American Heart Association BLS, Active American Heart Association ACLS Must-Have: Post-operative open-heart care experience Chest tube and other drain management experience Pre- and post-procedure care for patients with radial and femoral access Proficiency in cardiac monitoring, including reading and interpreting cardiac rhythm strips Advanced knowledge of cardiac and pulmonary abnormalities Experience with procedures and equipment such as assisting with chest tube removal, pericardial pacing wire removal, and management of temporary pacers Ability to use and troubleshoot non-invasive ventilation (NIV) devices and other oxygen delivery systems Willingness to float to all units within skill level Description: This position follows a clinical interview process. Candidates can expect outreach within two hours via phone and text where applicable. Decisions are typically made the same day or by the next business day. Functioning within the mission, vision, values, policies, and procedures, the Registered Nurse assumes responsibility and accountability for the care of assigned patients during their shift. Responsibilities include assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care using age-specific criteria. Judgments are made based on scientific knowledge and clinical skills. The Registered Nurse also assists in planning, directing, and teaching non-RN staff such as LPNs, PCTs, and unit secretaries.
