POSITION SUMMARY:

 

The Financial Literacy Lead provides leadership and oversight for a financial literacy initiative serving Kindergarten through 5th grade members, helping youth build foundational knowledge and skills related to money management, saving, budgeting, goal setting, and financial decision-making. This position supervises and develops Financial Literacy Coordinators, ensuring they have the training, resources, and support needed to deliver high-quality, engaging, and consistent programming across Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Tampa Bay.

As the primary operational lead for the initiative, the Financial Literacy Lead partners with Club Directors and site leadership to integrate programming into Club operations and maximize its impact on youth development. This role is responsible for establishing program standards, training systems, implementation procedures, reporting processes, and continuous improvement strategies, while ensuring compliance with organizational expectations and applicable grant and funding requirements.

COMPETENCIES & KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Leadership & Strategic Execution

• Model the mission, vision, ICARE values, objectives, policies, programs, and procedures of Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Tampa Bay; and the principles and practices of non-profit organizations.

• Lead the implementation, growth, and continuous improvement of the K-5 Financial Literacy initiative across participating Clubs.
• Establish program standards, procedures, goals, and implementation strategies that support quality, consistency, and long-term sustainability.
• Coordinate program operations, resources, staffing, and schedules to achieve desired outcomes end
• Ensure all program activities, participation targets, reporting requirements, and other grant deliverables are met consistently, accurately, and within established deadlines.

Staff Development

• Supervise, coach, and develop Financial Literacy Coordinators to ensure effective program delivery.
• Work closely with Human Resources to provide onboarding, training, performance feedback, and ongoing professional development.

• Create tools, resources, and accountability systems that support staff success and program consistency.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement

• Build and maintain strong partnerships with Club Directors, site leadership, staff, volunteers, and community partners.
• Serve as the primary operational liaison for financial literacy programming.
• Support member recruitment, family engagement, enrichment opportunities, and organizational initiatives that enhance program impact.

Program Quality, Curriculum & Training

• Ensure implementation of high-quality, developmentally appropriate financial literacy curriculum and activities.
• Monitor program delivery through site visits, observations, and coaching.
• Promote engaging learning experiences that build financial knowledge and decision-making skills among youth.

Data, Compliance & Performance Management

• Establish and oversee systems for program documentation, participation tracking, reporting, and outcome measurement.
• Ensure compliance with organizational standards and applicable grant and funding requirements.
• Monitor program performance and use data to identify trends, measure impact, and inform decision-making.

Accountability & Continuous Improvement

• Maintain clear expectations for program delivery, communication, professionalism, and documentation.
• Address performance and implementation challenges through coaching, corrective action plans, and follow-up.
• Use feedback, observations, and data to strengthen program quality, participant engagement, and overall effectiveness.
• Track completion of required program activities, documentation, and deliverables.

 

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Business, Finance, Financial Literacy, Human Services, Youth Development, or related field; equivalent experience may be considered. 

• Experience working with children and/or youth in an educational, nonprofit, or youth development setting.
• Experience providing staff leadership, coaching, supervision, or program oversight.
• Ability to provide constructive feedback and hold staff accountable to established expectations.
• Experience delivering or managing financial literacy or financial education programming preferred.
• Knowledge of financial education concepts, including saving, budgeting, spending, banking, credit, and financial goal setting preferred.
• Experience working within grant-funded programs or managing program compliance requirements preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and electronic data-entry systems. 
• Must have reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license and eligible to drive per our insurance and can travel between assigned program sites.
• Successfully complete organization sponsored CPR training within 90 days of hire.
• Must be able to clear a level II background screening ( and drug screening through one of our vendors.

 

TRAVEL:

 

Travel will be required to multiple Club facilities throughout Hillsborough, Pasco, Hernando and Pinellas Counties for training and professional development or other business purposes.
