The company was originally founded in with a creative approach to creating value from byproducts and aromatic raw materials set the stage for Berjé to become a leading supplier within the flavor and fragrance industryOur Forklift Operators work in either our Production facility or Shipping and Receiving and will assist with bringing materials to compounders, loading trucks and safely organizing the facility. This position must be safety focused with attention to detail.Key Responsibilities:Unload trucks that are delivering product materials purchased by Berje Inc.Label materials immediately after they have been unloadedConduct verification of the weights of materials receivedEnter receipt of material deliveries into the computer systemSample delivered materials (per SOP) and deliver samples to the QC LabMove delivered materials to appropriate warehouse inventory locationsRecord material stock locations, via scanner equipment, into computer systemCorrect any errors in the IT system information that are detected by the Department ManagementCollaborate with the Purchasing Dept. on any issues that must be handled with vendorsPick finished goods products from inventory locations and stage these on the loading docksApply packing lists to each finished goods shipmentInspect common carrier trucks for cleanliness, structural integrity, & driver Hazmat credentialsPhysically load sales order shipments on to the common carrier trucksRecord loaded shipments into the AS400 IT systemAssure that common carrier drivers sign off on Berje shipment documentsClear Production Area finished goods of containers and place in warehouse inventoryConsolidate inventory in shipping warehouse areasBracing of products on pallets for Export shipmentsFollow all safety rules/procedures and maintain an accident and injury free on-the-job recordComply with all relevant SQF procedures and regulationsSupport the company in achieving established performance and operational goals.Contribute to the department’s ability to meet targeted productivity, safety, and quality goals.Perform all other duties and tasks as assigned.Education & Experience:Minimum 2 years of forklift experience. Safety Certifications a +Skills and/or Physical Requirements:Must be physically able to stand/sit/walk for extended periods of timeStrong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate using both written and verbal communication with diverse work groups, including customers and internal Berje employeesHighly organized and able to multi-task in a fast paced environmentTeam oriented, yet able to work independentlyEnglish language reading, writing, and speakingComputer skills including MS Word & ExcelAttention to detailAbility to analyze regulatory requirements for specific ordersCommunication & interpersonal skills for working co-operatively/effectively in a team environmentWork Environment:While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be capable of regularly standing for extended periods. The employee frequently uses hands and fingers to handle raw materials, containers, tools, and controls. The employee is regularly required to walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or climb during an 8–12-hour work shift.The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds of materials on a repetitive basis. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.While performing the duties of this job, the employee may handle aromatic chemicals, solvents, oils, or mixtures.The employee is required to wear all appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including but not limited to eye protection, gloves, uniforms, and safety shoes. The noise level in the work environment is moderate.
