Registered Nurse Radiology Neuro

Methodist Hospital, part of SA Health and a leading healthcare provider in San Antonio, is seeking a Registered Nurse Radiology Neuro to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team. In this specialized role, you will provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care to adult and geriatric patients undergoing neuro and radiologic procedures, including interventional neuroradiology, diagnostic imaging, and related treatments. Working collaboratively with radiologists, neurologists, technologists, and fellow nurses, you will coordinate pre-, intra-, and post-procedure care, ensuring patient safety, comfort, and optimal clinical outcomes. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive assessments, review histories and medications, identify risk factors (especially for contrast, sedation, and stroke), and develop individualized plans of care. Administer IV contrast, moderate sedation, and other medications per protocol, monitor hemodynamic and neurologic status, interpret clinical changes, and respond quickly to emergent situations such as stroke alerts or acute neurologic deterioration. Prepare and maintain sterile fields, assist with procedures, manage lines and drains, and ensure accurate documentation in the electronic health record. Educate patients and families about procedures, pre- and post-care instructions, stroke signs and symptoms, and follow-up care. Actively participate in interdisciplinary huddles, case reviews, performance improvement initiatives, and evidence-based practice projects aimed at improving radiology and neuro outcomes. Follow all hospital and imaging safety standards, including radiation protection, contrast reaction protocols, infection prevention, and conscious sedation policies.
