About the job CDL A Truck Driver Trainee - Paid Training

Just got your CDL? American Driver is hiring recent CDL Class A graduates based in Hammond, LA to join our OTR fleet running east of I-35.

We'll get you on the road with a paid training program and a dedicated mentor. After training, drivers typically run 2,200-2,500 miles and earn between $1,200 and $1,500 weekly.

Training Program

4-6 weeks with a dedicated mentor
Fully paid - no cost to you
Focus on real routes, safety, inspections, and day-to-day operations
Guaranteed weekly pay during training
After training, transition to solo pay starting at $0.56 CPM

What This Job Looks Like

Dry van freight with no-touch loads
About 60% drop and hook to keep you moving
Consistent miles and minimal downtime
Day and night runs depending on dispatch

Pay & Weekly Output

$0.56-$0.65 CPM based on experience
Weekly earnings usually fall between $1,200-$1,500
Average 2,200-2,500 miles per week
Additional pay for stops, layovers, and breakdowns
Pay increases every six months
Weekly direct deposit
$300 paid orientation

Home Time

Home every two weeks on a consistent and planned schedule

Equipment

Assigned Freightliner and Kenworth tractors (2022-2025)
Well-maintained equipment with APUs

What You Need

Must be at least 21 with a valid Class A CDL
Open to recent CDL holders
No major violations or at-fault accidents in the last 3 years
