MRI Technologist

UnityPoint Health is hiring an MRI Technologist (Job ID: 181221). This is a PRN, as needed position in the MRI department, requiring 1st or 2nd shift availability and option to work weekends. The role requires a minimum of 24 hours of work per month, four weekends per year, and two holidays per year. Responsibilities Perform MRI examinations following physician orders and departmental protocols. Verify patient identification, obtain relevant medical history, and explain procedures to ensure patient understanding and comfort. Operate MRI scanners and related equipment to capture high-quality diagnostic images. Adhere to all MRI safety guidelines, including screening for contraindications and maintaining proper magnet room safety procedures. Evaluate images for diagnostic quality and collaborate with radiologists to determine if additional views or sequences are required. Participate in continuing education and training to maintain certification and keep current with advancements in MRI technology. Qualifications Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Radiology or Graduate of an accredited School of Magnetic Resonance Imaging. Experience: 2 years of prior MRI experience. Certification/License: Current Radiologic Technologist certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT); Current MRI certification by the ARRT or six months supervised MRI clinical scanning experience; Must possess and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or obtain it within three months from hire date.
