Role Summary This opportunity is for an IS Analyst within the Security Operations Center. The role is responsible for monitoring and analyzing security events, supporting investigations, and assisting with incident response activities while developing expertise in security operations and threat detection. The selected candidate will work in a 24x7 SecOps environment, support incident response activities, document investigation findings, and collaborate with internal IT teams and security stakeholders during investigations and escalations. Core Objective Monitor, analyze, and respond to security events and incidents while supporting continuous improvement of the organization's detection and response capabilities within the SecOps environment. About the Security Operations Center Security Operations is responsible for continuously monitoring, protecting, and improving the organization's security posture through threat detection, incident response, threat hunting, detection engineering, security automation, vulnerability management, data protection monitoring, and other operational cybersecurity capabilities. Key Responsibilities Monitor, triage, investigate, and document security alerts and events. Support incident response activities including triage, containment, remediation, and documentation. Analyze security events across endpoints, networks, SIEM platforms, and security monitoring tools. Research and investigate potential threats, vulnerabilities, and indicators of compromise. Assist in threat hunting activities using threat intelligence, attacker TTPs, and security event analysis under guidance from senior team members. Support the use of automation and orchestration tools to improve operational efficiency and reduce repetitive tasks. Assist with post-incident reviews and incident response exercises to improve response effectiveness. Work with internal IT teams and external stakeholders during investigations and escalations. Adhere to SLAs, operational metrics, ticket handling requirements, and defined escalation paths. Maintain awareness of emerging cyber threats, attacker techniques, and evolving security trends. Document investigation findings and provide clear updates to SecOps team members and stakeholders. Required Qualifications and Experience Foundational knowledge of cybersecurity, networking, operating systems, and security monitoring concepts. Understanding of common cybersecurity threats, attack techniques, incident response concepts, and security monitoring practices. Exposure to security monitoring tools, endpoint security technologies, SIEM platforms, or related cybersecurity solutions is desirable. Knowledge of Internet protocols, enterprise technology environments, and security controls. Strong critical thinking, analytical reasoning, and problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate issues methodically and identify meaningful patterns from multiple data sources. Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to document findings clearly and provide concise updates to stakeholders. Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced operational environment. Demonstrated ownership, curiosity, and willingness to continuously learn and develop cybersecurity knowledge and technical skills. Willingness to work in a 24x7 Security Operations Center environment with shift-based coverage. Work Schedule & Location Hybrid – 3 days per week in the office. We expect the annual salary for this position to range between $80,000 – $95,000 depending on location and level of relevant experience, plus discretionary bonus.
