The Hostess welcomes and assists guests in a high-volume, fine dining restaurant while coordinating reservations, seating, and front-of-house operations. Reporting to the Restaurant Manager, Front-of-House Manager, or General Manager, this role supports a polished guest experience across seasonal peaks and lower-volume service periods using OpenTable and the restaurant’s reservation system. Hour's, 04.30pm-10.00pm on weekdays and 04.30pm til 12.00am on Fridays and Saturdays. His season hiring, with opprtunity to prolong for weekends during slow season.
Responsibilities
- Welcome guests and manage guest relations throughout the dining experience.
- Assign tables and coordinate seating based on reservations, availability, and service flow.
- Manage reservations and waitlists using OpenTable and the restaurant-specific system.
- Distribute menus and respond to guest inquiries with professionalism.
- Monitor the dining room to support smooth front-of-house coordination.
- Receive and direct phone calls.
- Coordinate guest seating during seasonal peaks and lower-volume periods.
Required Qualifications
- Experience with reservation systems.
- Knowledge of waitlist management and dining room coordination.
- Strong customer service and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to resolve conflicts professionally.
- Ability to multitask in a restaurant environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in restaurant host operations.
