$29.00-$31.00/hourly
Contract position: 720 hours/4-4 1/2 months, can get extended

DEFINITION:

Under direction, performs complex professional accounting duties requiring preparation and interpretation of financial statements and reports; establishes new accounting procedures and controls; analyzes and advises management on a variety of fiscal matters; performs related duties as required.

Requirements and general duties:

• Must have a minimum of 3+ years of experience
• Experience in tracking costs for programs funded by grants
• Ability to track expenses to different types of government funding sources
• Prepare Expense reports and spreadsheets
• Prepare expense claims to be submitted to the State of CA.
• Reconcile transactions of trust bank accounts as required by CA State Bar

Must be able to work independently and have experience working in governmental accounting.

3 Years or more experience in governmental accounting

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting OR Bachelor's degree in another field which includes 30 semester (45 quarter) units of completed college coursework in accounting or related field, half of which MUST be upper division. A list of completed college coursework or legible transcripts MUST be submitted with the application if the applicant does not possess a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.

Substitution: An active California Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license may substitute for the education requirements. List your license number under the license/certification section of the application.
