Position Summary

Supervise and inspect the work of laundry to ensure a high level of quality and productivity. Clean and store hotel linens/uniforms in a timely, organized manner to ensure that hotels laundry and linen needs are met.

Primary Duties And Responsibilities

• Promotes superior guest service.
• Maintains, and perpetuates a positive organizational culture according to the principles of the Spirit of Tâlícn and the Core Values of ilani.
• Supervises the daily activities of the laundry staff.
• Ensures all staff are properly trained and have the tools and equipment needed to effectively perform their respective job duties.
• Monitors performance, conducts retraining as needed, alerts management of potentially serious issues.
• Inspects the work of Attendants to ensure that appropriate chemicals are used and that laundry areas are clean and in compliance with applicable regulations. Ensures that equipment is prepared and operational for the following day.
• Inspects guest laundry and linen and prepares for delivery.
• Minimizes waste within all areas of laundry.
• Completes all paperwork and duties such as filing out supply requisition, maintenance request forms, and updating logbooks, etc.
• Routinely performs daily laundry duties; receives soiled linens by bag, cart or chute from the floors, sorts all articles by kind, color and degree of soil, inspects all laundry and linens and records all damaged or stained items, operates washers and dryers according to recommended capacity and other manufacturers guidelines, folds clean linens and stores as appropriate, operates linen feeder, sheet folder, towel folder and table linen ironer machines.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma / GED; Recognized Equivalent of a High School Diploma (RED) or Foreign High School Diploma (FHD).
• Two (2) years' laundry and/or EVS experience including some supervisory experience in a hotel or other hospitality environment.
• Must possess excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to foster a supportive and enabling team environment.
• Good written and oral communication skills.
• Must speak fluent English.
• Must be able to work various shifts, weekends, holidays, and flexible hours.
• Must complete full training on chemical usage, MSDS, OSHA regulations, Hazardous Communication, Blood borne pathogens and all other safety regulatory procedures.
• Must be able to stand during entire shift and can lift up to 40 lbs.
• Must be able to push and pull heavy carts up to two hundred pounds.
• Must be able to withstand prolonged standing, walking, stretching, bending, and kneeling.
• Must be willing to work in a smoking environment.
• Must be willing to adhere to company health and safety measures.

Preferred Qualifications

• Working knowledge of laundry equipment operation.
• Supervisory experience in a hospitality environment preferred.

Wages:

This role offers a starting wage of $22.00 per hour. Candidates with relevant experience may be placed higher within the established pay range.
