Construction Manager - Environmental Remediation/Demolition/Decommissioning

We are hiring a Construction Manager—Environmental Remediation/Decommissioning/Demolition—based in our Houston office, with up to 50% travel to Jackson, Mississippi. Position Overview This role requires breadth of knowledge in remediation, decommissioning, demolition and associated regulatory, environmental, and safety practices. The successful candidate will lead cross‑functional teams on large‑scale projects. Key Responsibilities Provide leadership and oversight to a group of engineers, scientists, construction managers, contractors and waste disposal facilities serving clients in the upstream, midstream, and/or downstream oil and gas and industrial industry. Develop strategy, cost estimating and project scheduling for large‑scale remediation / decommissioning / demolition projects. Apply federal and/or Mississippi regulatory expertise and advocacy experience, including hazardous waste, naturally occurring radioactive material (NORM), lead‑based paint, asbestos, site investigation / remediation and site reclamation. Plan demolition and waste management, including onsite waste management, waste profiling, transportation and manifesting, and vendor coordination. Recover and monetize demolition salvage. Develop demolition project schedules and sequencing. Develop demolition plans, bid documents and select contractors. Conduct risk assessments to identify potential hazards associated with demolition activities. Coordinate with stakeholders—including engineers, environmental specialists, and regulatory bodies—to ensure compliance with legal and environmental standards. Explore innovation and technologies to improve demolition processes and outcomes. Develop strategies to minimize environmental impact of demolition activities (waste reduction, NORM and proper disposal of hazardous materials). Negotiate and manage contractors. Familiar with construction and demolition safety programs. Skills & Experience 12+ years working within an industrial, petrochemical or refinery environment. 5+ years project management experience and knowledge of applicable laws and regulations. Must include managing and directing professional and technical staff for complex construction, engineering and environmental projects. Experience preparing bid documents and stewarding the bid process through final selection of contractors for large‑scale construction projects. Confidence evaluating design packages for constructability at large industrial facilities. Demonstrated ability to actively develop and maintain client relationships. Experience leading successful proposal efforts exceeding $1M and guiding pursuit teams to make smart business decisions. Safety leader with ability to implement a behavior‑based safety system to deliver projects.
