Adjunct Lecturer, Psychology and Neuroscience Adjunct North Andover, MA, US 3 days ago Requisition ID: 2268 Position Description & Overview: The Department of Psychology and Neuroscience at Merrimack College invites applications for adjunct faculty to teach an undergraduate laboratory section of Behavioral Neuroscience (PSY3150) beginning in the Fall 2026 semester. Behavioral Neuroscience (PSY3150) Lecture Description: Examines the relationship between the neurophysiology of the brain and cognition. Topics include the neurophysiology of vision, touch, learning, memory, sleep, mental illness, hemispheric functions, and consciousness. The role of neuronal plasticity in altering brain structure and function after injury or learning is given special emphasis. Lab work will demonstrate principles discussed in class. The lab section meets in person weekly and reinforces lecture content through hands-on exercises, demonstrations, and data collection/analysis activities. Applicants should indicate their experience teaching laboratory or applied science courses. Qualifications Required Master's degree in Neuroscience, Psychology, Behavioral Neuroscience, or a closely related field. Demonstrated expertise in the content area(s) of the course(s) being taught. Preferred Ph.D. in Neuroscience, Psychology, or a closely related discipline. Experience teaching graduate-level courses. Applied or research experience involving neurophysiological methods, human behavioral testing, or related laboratory techniques. Experience with lab equipment and/or software relevant to behavioral neuroscience instruction (e.g., EEG, physiological recording, behavioral tracking software). Familiarity with APA and Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology (SIOP) principles and guidelines. Compensation Minimum: $5,000 per 4-credit course The actual pay offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as, but not limited to, candidate qualifications and prior experience, scope of responsibilities, internal equity, and market considerations.
