We are looking for individuals experienced in logistics and transportation to add to our team who will contribute to achieving our mission.Job SummaryWe are hiring full-time individuals to load and unload packages/boxes in our fast-paced environment. Warehouse Associates are responsible for warehouse duties including: the physical loading, unloading of heavy furniture and/or sorting of packages/boxes of varying sizes and weights by hand, including lifting, pushing, pulling, carrying, scanning, staging, wrapping, as well as physical bending, twisting, kneeling, etc. Associates are also responsible for operating warehouse equipment in a safe and efficient manner. Shifts may vary depending on warehouse package volume and business needs.Key ResponsibilitiesLoading and unloading packages/boxes (furniture) in our fast-paced environmentSorting packages/boxes of varying sizes and weights by hand: lifting, pushing, pulling, carrying, scanning, staging, wrapping, etc.Assisting in verifying inventory quantity and inventory level maintenanceAssisting with other warehouse duties as neededOperating warehouse equipment in a safe mannerRequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalent1 year minimum of previous warehouse experience desiredExperience working with furniture preferredAbility to work in a fast-paced environmentAbility to work with heavy furnitureReliable attendanceAttention to detailFlexibility to working past quitting time to get the job doneDetailed record keepingPrevious Forklift Certification/Experience is a plusPhysical RequirementsLifting and Carrying: Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds regularly and occasionally lift and carry up to 100 pounds with assistanceStanding and Walking: Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workdayPushing and Pulling: Ability to push and pull wheeled carts or pallet jacks loaded with merchandiseBending, Stooping, and Reaching: Ability to bend, stoop, and reach overhead frequentlyPhysical Stamina: Demonstrate physical stamina and endurance to perform repetitive tasks in a fast-paced environmentManual Dexterity: Ability to handle and manipulate small parts or delicate items with precisionFlexibility to work extended hours or weekends when necessary to address urgent operational needsJob Type: Full-timeMetropolitan Warehouse is an equal opportunity employer.
