The Blue Ridge Area Food Bank is seeking a full-time Warehouse Assistant and Class B Driver for our Verona, VA warehouse. This role is essential to supporting the Food Bank’s mission by ensuring the safe pick-up, delivery, receiving, and distribution of food products as well as contributing to daily warehouse operations. The position operates non-CDL vehicles, box trucks, and CDL Class B vehicles to complete scheduled routes, including responsibility for the Neighborhood Produce Market, and serves as a back-up driver for the Mobile Food Pantry. In addition, this role supports inventory management by tracking products and completing required documentation in the computer system.

Required Job Qualifications:

• Minimum of one year’s CDL (either Class A or B) driving experience.
• Valid Virginia CDL Class B Driver’s license with a safe driving record, and ability to maintain or meet all DOT requirements, including ongoing drug and alcohol testing.
• Experience operating warehouse equipment including forklifts, pallet jacks, and stand-up riders.
• Ability to lift and carry objects up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally in a safe manner.
• Ability to work in a warehouse environment and in adverse weather conditions including heat, cold, rain, and snow.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations and food safety requirements.
• Strong customer service and communication skills with the ability to work cooperatively with staff and volunteers, as well as independently.
• Basic computer skills with the ability to complete reports and maintain accurate records.

Benefits & Work Schedule:

• Full-time position with excellent benefits, generous PTO, and eligibility for 12 paid holidays.
• Monday–Friday schedule, with occasional evening hours and minimal overtime as needed.
• Local routes only, allowing drivers to return home at the end of each workday.

Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30 am – 4:00 pm.

Compensation: The pay range for this position is $20.00–$21.00 per hour, based on qualifications and experience.
