Oncology Medical Science Liaison/Sr Medical Science Liaison (GI) - MN/IA/NE/ND/SD

AstraZeneca seeks an Oncology Medical Science Liaison to serve as the local medical voice in a five-state territory (MN, IA, NE, ND, SD). The role involves developing medical strategy, building relationships with healthcare providers, conducting scientific exchanges, and gathering insights to improve patient outcomes and inform company research.
Responsibilities
- Develop tailored medical strategy aligned with AstraZeneca priorities and local patient needs
- Build relationships with oncologists, urologists, and multidisciplinary teams across academic, hospital, and private practice settings
- Lead scientific exchanges and peer-to-peer interactions regarding marketed and developmental oncology products
- Gather treatment landscape insights and identify barriers to optimal patient care and outcomes
- Communicate findings and recommendations internally to support improved patient care and R&D strategy
Requirements
- Advanced degree (PharmD, MD/DO, PhD, PA, or NP) or equivalent experience in health science or clinical field
- Minimum 2 years MSL experience or relevant therapeutic area experience
- Demonstrated ability to discuss scientific content with diverse audiences
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Independent and collaborative work capability in matrix environments
- Understanding of clinical study design, protocols, and healthcare systems
- Excellent project management and ability to travel 40-60% domestically
