Role Summary
As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), youll provide direct daily living support, skill development, and community integration for participants. You'll assist in personal care, facilitate recreation, safely administer medications, and document progressall within a respect-driven, nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with personal care: hygiene, grooming, meals, and qualified medication administration
- Support daily living skills: budgeting, meal prep, housekeeping
- Facilitate community access: appointments and recreational activities
- Encourage social, educational, and emotional growth
- Implement individualized plans and behavior supports
- Observe and document participant progress and any health or behavioral changes
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team (case managers, therapists, families, supervisors)
- Uphold safety standards and agency protocols
Required Qualifications
- Active Qualified Medication Administration Person (QMAP) certification (required for higher end of pay range)
- 18 years old
- High school diploma or equivalent (some roles may require additional education)
- Valid drivers license with clean driving record (for community outings)
- Ability to pass background/criminal record checks
Physical capability: lifting, kneeling, bending as needed - Basic CPR/First Aid certification must obtain within 30 days of hire
- Strong communication, adaptability, and culturalsensitivity
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience with IDD, mental health, or caregiving
- Postsecondary coursework or certification in human services
Schedule & Hours
- Location: Denver, CO
- Status: Part-Time (20 hours per week)
- Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:30 AM 1:30 PM (4 hours per day)
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay Range: $18.00 $24.00 per hour (higher end of pay range designated for QMAP-certified candidates)
