Ward Secretary II - Med/Surg - Nights

We are seeking a dependable, compassionate, and detail-oriented Ward Secretary to join our healthcare team. This position provides both clerical support and direct patient care under the supervision of the House Supervisor and Registered Nurse. Responsibilities Provide professional and courteous service to patients, families, visitors, physicians, and staff. Answer and direct telephone calls and accurately communicate messages. Maintain accurate patient records and Electronic Health Records (EHR). Enter physician orders and complete required forms and requisitions. Coordinate patient testing, appointments, transfers, and transportation. Process patient admissions and discharges. Maintain patient lists, charts, and documentation. Assist nursing staff with patient care, monitoring, transportation, and activities of daily living. Recognize and report changes in patient condition. Maintain a clean, stocked, and safe patient care environment. Respond appropriately to call lights, alarms, and patient needs. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. CNA certification required, or eligibility to obtain certification within 60 days. Full-time students enrolled in an RN or LPN program may be eligible. Current BLS certification required. Previous healthcare experience preferred. Medical Terminology coursework preferred. Computer skills required; MediTech experience preferred. Strong communication, organization, and attention-to-detail skills. Physical Requirements Must be able to walk frequently, sit for extended periods, lift 20–40 pounds , operate computers and patient equipment, and safely respond to alarms and call lights in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
