Custodial Technician

PAY RATE: $16-$18/hour

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Custodial Technician is to maintain day-to-day cleanliness in the Health and Wellness Center, Early Learning Center and various spaces of the Scantic Valley Y.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Empty trash and refill liners.
• Clean and sanitize bathrooms, showers, sauna and steam room.
• Clean and maintain the Wellness Floor, Gymnasium, Community room and other spaces as needed
• Restock supplies in bathrooms, showers and Wellness Floor.
• Wash loads of member's towels as needed.
• Clean inside windows and mirrors, as needed. As well as outside windows.
• Maintain and inventory of supplies.
• Ensure proper labeling and dilution of all chemicals.
• Always Wearing proper Personal Protective Equipment (gloves, etc.).
• Other routine maintenance duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent strongly preferred
• 1-2 years of related experience preferred
• 1-2 years of experience with wood and tile floor maintenance (i.e. wax, shine, strip)
• Basic knowledge of cleaning products
• Exceptional customer relations focused attitude
• Strong focus on critical problem solving
• Willingness to work in a team-centric environment
