Plant Operator / Backup Delivery Driver (CDL A or B)

Job Description Title: Plant Operator / Backup Delivery Driver (CDL A or B) (Open) Location: Cleveland, OH - Retail shop Recruiter: Kevin Garner (View email address on click.appcast.io) Responsibilities Cylinder Handling: Safely load, deliver, and unload cylinders containing compressed gases to both external and internal customer locations. Record Keeping: Accurately record deliveries and pick‑ups on a load manifest, obtaining customer signatures for receipt. Collect empty, rejected, or unsold cylinders and return them to a plant or branch for refilling. Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all Airgas safety standards (SAFECOR) and government regulations, including those from DOT, EPA, FMCSA, FDA, and OSHA. Warehouse Support: Provide assistance in the warehouse or on the dock as needed. Qualifications Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License. Valid Medical Examiner’s Card. Hazmat Endorsement (or willing to obtain). One (1) year of prior Class A or B professional driving experience within the last five (5) years and a clean driving record (no more than two convictions, or two at‑fault accidents in the last three years, or a combination of one conviction and one at‑fault accident in the last three years). In lieu of experience, may consider a diploma from an accredited driving school and at least one year of prior driving experience within the last five years. Must be at least 21 years old. Ability to read and comprehend material safety data sheets. Ability to routinely lift 25–75 lbs., and occasionally lift 76–125 lbs. with material handling equipment. Must be able to drive hazardous cargo for up to 8 hours; frequent bending is also required. Ability to work independently and under some pressure to meet deadlines. Must obtain forklift operator certification. Benefits Starting pay of $26.50–$27.50/hr. Quarterly bonus potential. Monday–Friday day shift.
