About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: Neuro ICU Duration: 14 weeks Shift: 12H Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: 2 years in Neuro ICU preferred Description: The position requires a Registered Nurse in a Neuro ICU setting. Candidates will work 12-hour night shifts. Guaranteed hours are 36 hours per week. The unit typically has a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:1 to 2:1. Candidates must have the ability to read and interpret EKG strips. Ventilator management experience is required. All staff members are required to float to sister facilities when needed. Weekend work is required every other weekend. Holidays are scheduled on a rotating basis with core staff. Scrub colors are navy, with grooming guidelines for under shirts. The unit typically manages patients with CVA, ICB, and those undergoing neuro surgeries. Line insertions are a common task on this unit. There are nurse aides present for safety assistance. Additional responsibilities may include relieving charge nurses during breaks. The work environment includes a newer, state-of-the-art facility. Cancellation policy includes the hospital's right to cancel shifts. Documentation is managed using a specified electronic medical record system. Experience in a strong Stroke Program is beneficial for candidates.
