Assistant Cook

Key Responsibilities Properly clean and sanitize all food preparation areas according to established health and hygiene standards Wash, sanitize, and appropriately store all cooking equipment, appliances, utensils, cutting boards, and dishes Assist in preparing and serving breakfast, lunch, snacks, and other meals as directed Clean, wash, cut, and prepare ingredients, including meats, vegetables, fruits, and other food items Assist with receiving deliveries, inspecting items, and stocking supplies in designated storage areas Organize, label, and correctly store food supplies following proper food safety inventory rotation guidelines Prepare, clean, and set up breakfast carts each morning Clean, set up, and maintain the dining hall in preparation for daily lunch service Support kitchen operations during school events and special programs as needed Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal and Head of School Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred Minimum of 3 years of culinary experience required Knowledge of basic food preparation and food safety practices Ability to follow directions and work collaboratively as part of a team Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to stand for extended periods of time and lift up to 40 pounds ServSafe certification preferred Allergen awareness certificate preferred Compensation and Benefits Compensation: Commensurate with qualifications and experience Benefits: Medical, dental, and life insurance offered (subject to premium split); eligibility to participate in the school’s retirement program Hours 35 Hours per week Monday through Thursday - 7:30 am - 3:00 pm Friday - 7:00 am - 2:30 pm Timeline As part of our timeline, we are looking for the successful candidate to begin in the role by August 17. #J-18808-Ljbffr
