Registered Nurse

Position highlights include weekend shifts with variable weekday shifts for full-time employees. Pay range is $34.00 to $54.40 per hour based on experience, skills, and internal equity. Weekend differentials are available at $7.00 or $11.00 per hour flat rate, depending on weekend commitment. Eligible for an additional $7.00 per hour flat rate for 5 out of 6 weekends and an additional $11.00 per hour flat rate for 11 out of 12 weekends. The MDH benefits package includes medical, dental, vision, 457B, and employer match for full-time employees, along with company-paid STD and LTD.

Job Summary: Is an expert in the provision of professional nursing care at McDonough District Hospital. The Emergency Department RN is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the professional nursing care of the patient populations served within the Emergency Department. Provides, arranges, teaches, and supervises nursing care within the department. Performs and carries out treatment, diagnostic, and preventative procedures as ordered by the patients physician. Performs other assignments as required.

Job Specifications: Education and experience include being currently licensed as an RN in the state of Illinois by the Illinois Department of Professional Regulation. Required to have current CPR (or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire date), ACLS, and PALS certification. CPI certification is also required. Comprehensive knowledge of current professional nursing practice and knowledge of the professional nurse as team leader is required in this role. Knowledgeable regarding nursing standards of care, practices, and the use of policies, procedures, and protocols in coordinating care. Knowledge of current infection control practices, including the use of PPEs, universal precautions, and MSDS requirements. Knowledge of emergency preparedness procedures.
