Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This opportunity invites a licensed pharmacist to contribute expertise in a dynamic pharmacy setting located in Florissant, MO. This direct hire position offers the chance to engage in meaningful patient care by providing thorough medication counseling and collaborating closely with healthcare providers to ensure safe and effective medication use.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering proactive patient counseling and medication education via phone, addressing inquiries on new prescriptions, refills, side effects, adherence, and proper medication use.
- Collaborating with prescribers and their offices to clarify prescriptions and resolve clinical issues that may affect timely dispensing.
- Reviewing and clinically verifying new and refill prescriptions for therapeutic appropriateness, drug interactions, contraindications, and dosing accuracy.
- Performing pharmacist verification of filled prescriptions in a high-volume, closed-door fulfillment environment, ensuring accuracy in drug, dose, quantity, and labeling before dispensing.
- Assisting the pharmacy manager and staff in processing and transferring patients’ prescriptions, taking full ownership of the transfer process from start to finish.
Qualifications and desired experience:
- Active and clear pharmacist license in the state of Missouri.
- Experience as a pharmacist in retail, mail order, or specialty pharmacy environments is preferred; new graduates are also encouraged to apply.
