Job Title

Registered Nurse (RN) – Cardiac Stepdown / CVU

Location

Omaha, NE

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Days | Full-Time | Onsite | Shifts: 0630–1900 and 1830–0700; every other weekend required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide intermediate-level cardiac and vascular nursing care to patients with diagnoses including CHF, A-fib RVR, CVAs, and post-surgical cardiac conditions, supporting thoracic, EP, cath lab, and structural heart programs
• Titrate drips including amiodarone, nitroglycerin, nicardipine, epinephrine, cardizem, and other blood pressure management medications
• Monitor and interpret telemetry strips independently using hardwired and telebox systems in collaboration with remote tele techs
• Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4, with 1:3 for post-surgical patients within the first 24 hours
• Collaborate with hospitalists, intensivists, cardiology on-call, and respiratory therapy to deliver comprehensive patient care
• Float to units of same or lower acuity as needed

Required Qualifications

• Active RN licensure
• Minimum 1 year of experience in cardiac stepdown or equivalent patient population
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIHSS certification required
• Ability to titrate vasoactive and cardiac drips independently
• Ability to read and interpret telemetry strips

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience supporting thoracic surgery, electrophysiology, or structural heart programs
• Familiarity with BiPAP and CPAP respiratory support equipment
• Experience caring for downgraded CVICU patients
