Test Manager at 2K. About the role As a Test Manager at 2K, you will play a pivotal role in leading a dedicated team of quality assurance and testing professionals. Your primary focus will be to ensure that the games developed by 2K meet exceptional quality standards. Key facts Location: Madrid, Spain Engagement: Full-time, onsite Team: Testing Team What you'll do Lead and nurture a team of QA specialists, fostering a collaborative atmosphere that emphasizes excellence and ongoing improvement, including conducting performance evaluations and making key staffing decisions. Establish quality benchmarks and best practices, ensuring compliance with guidelines set by major platform holders such as Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo. Evaluate risks, prioritize testing tasks, and ensure that issues are resolved promptly, which includes managing bug tracking and QA reporting processes. Oversee the approval of development milestones and manage the game submission process effectively. Act as the primary liaison between QA/Test, Producers, Developers, Compliance teams, and external studios to ensure seamless communication. Actively engage in the recruitment and interview processes to build and expand the testing team. Develop and implement training programs for team members to enhance their skills and knowledge in testing methodologies. Analyze testing results and provide actionable insights to improve game quality and performance. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate testing feedback into the development cycle. Ensure that all testing activities align with project timelines and deliverables. Maintain comprehensive documentation of testing processes and outcomes for future reference and compliance. Requirements Extensive experience in software testing and quality assurance within the gaming sector, ideally in a Test/QA Manager position or a comparable role. A solid understanding of software testing methodologies, bug tracking systems, and the processes involved in creating test plans and documenting bugs. Proven experience in managing and developing QA/Test teams, including conducting performance evaluations and mentoring team members effectively. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead within a matrixed organizational structure. Proficiency in English, both in written and verbal forms, is essential for effective collaboration. A strong attention to detail and a passion for delivering high-quality gaming experiences. Nice to have Knowledge of platform holder standards and submission processes for major gaming consoles, including Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo. Familiarity with tools such as MS Office, Source Control, and Visual Studio, along with technical skills related to PCs and gaming consoles. Previous experience in a fast-paced gaming environment, demonstrating adaptability and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
