Marina Store Associate

JOB TITLE: MARINA STORE ASSOCIATE DEPARTMENT: Marina Mini Mart/Boathouse REPORTS TO: Supervisor/General Manager SALARY RANGE: $16.50/hr POSITION TYPE: Seasonal/Part-time, 29 hrs/week, Non-exempt DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Greet customers warmly, smile, and engage to provide assistance. Check merchandise, scan items, and process payments. Listen attentively to customer questions and needs, showing enthusiasm. Handle multiple customers simultaneously if needed. Report any unscannable items to management immediately. Promote specials and sale items to customers. Assist with pricing, stocking, facing merchandise, dusting, sweeping, and receiving shipments. Operate point of sale systems, including fuel console and credit card machines. Reconcile sales reports and transmit funds to the Administration Office. Work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed. Learn new information about the store or other departments daily. Perform any other duties assigned by management. QUALIFICATIONS: Must be 18 years or older. Preferred: One year of cash handling and customer service experience. Basic math skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and simple word problems. Excellent interpersonal communication skills. Experience in construction, retail, or hardware store operations is a plus. High school diploma or GED required. Ability to stand for long periods, and perform bending, reaching, grasping, and climbing. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds periodically. Team lifting required for heavy or awkward items.
