2028-29 Dermatopathology Fellowship

Program Overview The UCLA Dermatopathology Fellowship provides highly‑specialized training for fellows in dermatology and pathology. Fellows will work within the dermatopathology service and the clinical services of UCLA’s Dermatology Department, receiving comprehensive training that includes daily sign‑outs of challenging consult cases, a high volume of routine cases from community dermatologists and UCLA Medical Center inpatient services, and routine use of ancillary studies such as immunohistochemistry and molecular pathology. Extensive opportunities for basic science, translational, and clinical research are available, with collaborations across a wide range of clinical and basic science disciplines. The fellowship is ACGME‑approved and emphasizes professional development and educational excellence. Responsibilities Daily sign‑outs of challenging consult cases. High‑volume routine case management from community dermatologists and inpatient services. Application of ancillary studies, including immunohistochemistry and molecular pathology. Participation in basic science, translational, and clinical research projects. Collaboration with UCLA faculty across diverse disciplines. Completion of all ACGME‑required educational objectives. Qualifications Applicants must have completed training in a U.S. or Canadian ACGME‑accredited AP/CP, AP‑only, or CP‑only residency program. Board eligibility or board certification is required. International medical graduates are considered only if they have completed residency training in a U.S. or Canadian ACGME‑accredited program.
