We aim to deliver high‑quality care to uphold the health of our nation’s greatest asset: its people. Position Summary Diagnoses and treats mental and behavioral health conditions. Provides supervision to Mental Health Nurse Practitioners, Psychologists, and social workers, including psychosocial assessments, treatment planning, counseling, education, referral for resources and benefits, and case management. Develops program content and leads activities to enhance social development of individual members and group goals. Collaborates with the core PACT Team and expanded PACT Team to develop patient care plans. Core Responsibilities Interview individual members to assess social and emotional capabilities, examine patients for symptoms of organic, congenital, or acquired disorders, and determine nature and extent. Order and perform diagnostic tests and therapeutic procedures; interpret results and provide follow‑up care. Counsel patients on medication use and educate them about treatment plans. Develop and implement patient management plans and assist in continuity of care through the PCMM. Evaluate external medical records and work with patients using VA co‑managed care rules. Conduct individual, group, family, and marriage counseling and/or therapy. Help members develop attitudes and social skills for improved family relations and community responsibility. Address issues such as advance directives and organ donation per standards. Input all patient information into VISTA/CPRS. Complete clinical reminders “due” at each patient visit. Assist in co‑managed care collaboration with non‑VA providers and facilities. Act as case manager when needed. Provide patient and family health education focusing on self‑management, prevention, wellness, and healthy lifestyle choices. Maintain confidentiality of veterans’ data and information. Comply with all VA and company training requirements. Fulfill compliance requirements of the Office of Inspector General, Joint Commission, Environment of Care, lab compliance, and other related items. Remain focused on achieving excellent clinical outcomes through VA guidelines. Provide excellent customer service to each veteran and their family, both in person and over the phone, as well as to colleagues and clinic visitors. Participate in clinic outreach events to support enrollment initiatives. Support patient enrollment, retention, and follow‑up appointments or nurse visits. Embrace and support new initiatives, whether clinical or operational. Qualifications Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathic Medicine Board certified in Psychiatry Valid, unrestricted license in the state of employment (or any U.S. state or territory, per VA contractual requirements) Minimum 1–3 years of clinical medical practice with adult patients (specific requirements may vary) Current, unrestricted Drug Enforcement Administration registration Credentialed and in good standing through the Veterans Health Administration Current certification in Basic Life Support (renewed per agency) and ACLS per contract Proficiency in written and spoken English Strong computer skills, including EMR experience Energetic and optimistic demeanor Considered a safety‑sensitive position Relocation Incentive $10,000 relocation/recruitment incentive.
