Maintenance Supervisor

Job Location: Lafayette YMCA - Lafayette, CO 80026 Position Type: Full Time Salary Range: $20.00 - $20.00 Hourly Overview Under the general direction of the Facility Superintendent, the Building/Facility Supervisor acts as a Manager on Duty during hours and operation of facilities and supervises the daily facility operations on the property at the YMCA of Northern Colorado. The Building/Facility Supervisor is responsible for the cleanliness and safety of the facility, supervising community service volunteers, acting as liaison between contractors and the YMCA and serving as emergency responder. Responsibilities Performs Manager on Duty functions to include walking through every aspect of the facility on an hourly basis for a heightened awareness of cleanliness and what should or should not be happening in the facility as well as a focus on risk management. Responds to any emergency ensuring member’s safety. Ensures that the facility has necessary equipment to operate programs effectively. Supervises any other facility staff or volunteers. Performs all duties related to the ice rink including: Operating and maintaining ice resurfacer, ice depth checks, monitoring surface and air temperatures, ice maintenance, cleanliness, etc. Performs pool safety and maintenance checks as scheduled. Certified Pool Operator certificate required within 30 days of hire. Assists the Membership Desk or other departments throughout the shift as needed. Assists in any tasks/duties assigned by the Facility Superintendent. Ensures that all staff members are providing exceptional customer service and a positive and professional atmosphere at all times. Maintains supplies and orders and picks up necessary maintenance items to perform repairs. Cleans up the boiler room/storage areas weekly to make sure chemicals are stored properly and safety and products and equipment are orderly. Stores all tools at the end of the shift. Performs general maintenance of facility and preventive maintenance research for short-and-long term fixes of items and basic PM on HVAC units. Provides PM and repair of fitness equipment. Takes the lead in keeping an active building list of Community Service tasks and directly supervises these volunteers and account for documents. Assists other departments in daily functions offering enhanced customer service. Assists in maintaining a logbook of current projects and daily/weekly/monthly preventative maintenance issues/concerns. Inspects and maintains landscaping and exterior of facility on a daily basis. References all equipment checklists and accounts for all needed items on related tasks. Drives locally and to distant locations, camps, etc.) as required. Completes other duties as assigned. Qualifications High school graduate with additional relevant trainings or certifications. Minimum of 18 years of age. Current/valid driver’s license and MVR to meet the standard driver qualifications of the YMCA. Skills to perform basic maintenance of the facility. Skills to maintain ice including driving and maintaining the ice resurfacer. Skills to maintain basic pool operations. Current CPR and First Aid certifications. Strong communication and human relations skills. Pulling: Using upper extremities to exert force in order to draw, drag, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion. Lifting: Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position-to position. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires substantial use of the upper extremities and back muscles. Fingering: Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand or arm as in handling.
