ListenUp is expanding into Fort Collins, and we're looking for a motivated, customer-focused

Sales Consultant & Assistant Window Covering Specialist

to join our new store! This unique hybrid role combines the excitement of selling premium home entertainment and smart home technology with the opportunity to learn and grow in the rapidly expanding custom window covering industry. As a Sales Consultant, you'll help customers discover exceptional audio, video, and smart home solutions tailored to their lifestyles. You'll also work closely with our experienced Window Covering Specialist, receiving hands-on training in the design, selection, and coordination of premium window treatments, including motorized shades, blinds, shutters, and draperies. You don't need to be a window covering expert to get started!

We're looking for someone who enjoys consultative sales, appreciates great design and technology, and is eager to expand their expertise. You'll learn alongside an experienced specialist while helping us grow our window covering business throughout the Northern Colorado market. What You'll Do

Sales Consultation & Customer Experience

Provide professional, consultative sales assistance to customers seeking premium home entertainment, personal audio, and smart home solutions.

Develop an understanding of customer needs and recommend products and integrated systems that complement their homes, lifestyles, and budgets.

Conduct in-store and in-home consultations, helping customers explore solutions and make informed purchasing decisions.

Prepare sales proposals and collaborate with internal teams on system designs and project requirements.

Develop and maintain strong customer relationships through exceptional service, timely communication, and post-sale follow-up.

Maintain accurate customer information, sales opportunities, and follow-up activities in our CRM system.

Stay informed about emerging technologies, new product offerings, and industry trends.

Assist with showroom presentation, merchandising, and general store operations.

Participate in product training, sales meetings, and occasional customer events outside normal business hours.

Assistant Window Covering Specialist

Work directly with and receive ongoing training from our experienced Window Covering Specialist to develop knowledge of custom window treatments, design principles, and installation requirements.

Assist with customer consultations, product selections, and design recommendations for blinds, shades, shutters, draperies, and motorized window covering systems.

Accompany the Window Covering Specialist on in-home visits, learning proper site evaluation, measuring techniques, and project planning.

Help gather and document measurements, site conditions, customer preferences, and other information necessary for accurate proposals and installations.

Assist with preparing quotes, entering project information into D-Tools, and maintaining accurate project records.

Help coordinate window covering projects by communicating with customers, vendors, purchasing teams, and installers.

Assist with tracking orders, confirming product specifications, monitoring lead times, and following projects through completion.

Become familiar with premium window covering brands and technologies, including Hunter Douglas and Lutron.

Support showroom demonstrations and help customers understand the benefits of different window covering options, including automated and integrated shading solutions.

Assist with coordinating installation details and participate in site visits as needed.

Work collaboratively with sales associates, installers, and other departments to deliver a seamless, white-glove customer experience.

Gradually take on additional window covering consultation and project responsibilities as training progresses and proficiency develops.

Help support and grow ListenUp's window covering business throughout the Northern Colorado market.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.

Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

Demonstrated ability to provide outstanding customer service and build lasting client relationships.

Prior experience with Hunter Douglas, Lutron, or other window covering products.

Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Comfortable learning new products, technologies, and business systems.

General computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.

Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with a team.

Strong problem-solving abilities and a willingness to take initiative.

Comfortable participating in in-home consultations, site visits, and hands-on learning opportunities.

Valid driver's license with an acceptable motor vehicle record.

A genuine interest in technology, home design, and delivering exceptional customer experiences.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in retail sales, consultative sales, consumer electronics, or luxury products.

Experience working with customers on custom products, home improvement projects, or design-related purchases.

Familiarity with premium audio, video, home automation, or smart home technology.

Interest in interior design, window treatments, or home aesthetics.

Experience with CRM platforms, D-Tools, or project tracking systems.

Associate degree or higher in business, design, or a related technical field.

Most importantly, we're looking for someone who is eager to learn.

Ability to lift and carry products, samples, and equipment weighing up to 30 pounds.

Frequent walking, sitting, and movement throughout the showroom.

Occasional standing, ladder use, and moderate physical activity during site visits and consultations.

Ability to travel to customer homes and project locations throughout the Northern Colorado market as needed.
