Position Manager, Product Development Liquids, Drybar Department: Product Development - Beauty & Wellness Work Location Boston, MA – Hybrid (on‑site Tuesday through Thursday, remote Monday and Friday) What you will be doing Manage the launch process for all new liquid products from the innovation calendar to final launch. Lead product development from concept to launch, incorporating data‑driven vision and consumer insights. Stay current on beauty industry trends, ingredients, packaging, and competitor activity to inform product briefs and ideation. Create and manage product development briefs, ensuring strong brand focus and product uniqueness aligned with marketing on key ingredients, features, and benefits. Oversee daily sourcing of raw materials, working with contract manufacturers, regulators, and internal partners; review and advise on submissions and CM redirects. Support weekly momentum, managing pilot and production to meet timelines and scale‑up requirements, ensuring approvals and sign‑offs. Develop go‑to‑market materials—claims testing, ingredient stories, usage instructions, and educational content—to deliver clear consumer communication. Identify, remove, or mitigate roadblocks to keep on‑time delivery of finished goods, release, and shipping. Lead packaging development, including brief sizing based on competitive analysis to meet pricing, timing, and functionality targets. Collaborate with vendors, track on‑time launches, and sign off on specifications. Manage multiple product development projects and milestones concurrently. Align claim substantiation plans with Product Marketing and R&D/regulatory/legal teams. Work cross‑functionally (creative, sales, product marketing, brand, sourcing, operations, quality, R&D, packaging, regulatory) to execute launch strategies. Track key milestones, report progress, and propose solutions for delays or challenges. Communicate milestone updates to stakeholders as dates shift. Skills needed to be successful Strong prioritization and self‑motivation in a fast‑paced environment. Excellent written and verbal communication, with problem‑solving abilities. Attention to detail; ability to switch between projects without sacrificing quality. Excellent organization and time‑management skills. Passion for beauty product development; up‑to‑date on industry trends. Proactive, self‑motivated, and collaborative mindset. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree. 5+ years in product development within the personal care industry. Experience in haircare or skincare product development. Experience working with contract manufacturers and packaging suppliers. Authorized to work in the United States on a full‑time basis. Preferred Qualifications Chemical science background or degree. Experience in regulatory and legal aspects of personal care products. Compensation & Benefits Base pay range: $95,843 – $119,804 annually (Massachusetts only; actual salaries vary by location, experience, skill level, and performance).
