Registered Nurse - 7th Floor

Department Overview Our Minneapolis 7th floor is a 33‑bed pediatric unit that provides care to infants, children and young adults in the areas of hematology, oncology, general medical/surgical care and behavioral crisis monitoring. Our team specializes in care of patients with hematology and oncology diseases, including new diagnosis, transfusions, chemotherapy administration, central line maintenance and end‑of‑life care. The unit collaborates closely with the outpatient hematology/oncology clinic to coordinate ongoing chemotherapy treatment and system management. Position Summary Coordinates and provides family‑centered nursing care to infants, children and adolescents, utilizing the nursing process. Accountable for professional practice, including independent nursing functions and delegated medical functions performed in collaboration with other health team members. This is a variable position. The annualized FTE is 0.65 FTE. RN will work 0.5 FTE for 26 weeks, beginning of May to the end of October. RN will then work 0.8 FTE for 26 weeks, beginning of November to the end of April. This position is not eligible to decrease or increase FTE. THIS IS AN MNA CONTRACT POSITION. Education Requirements Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Current Minnesota RN licensure. Current BLS certification. Based upon the unit in which you are applying, additional certification(s) may be required. Department specific required qualifications need to be obtained within 6 months of employment. Current Chemotherapy & Biotherapy (CHEMBIO) course completion required within 24 months of start date. Current Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition and Stabilization (PEARS) certification required or obtained during orientation. Physical Demands Please click here to view the Physical Demands. Annual salaries displayed are based on full‑time employment (40 standard hours per week). Annual salaries for part‑time positions will be prorated based on the employee’s scheduled weekly hours in relation to the full‑time standard. In addition to your salary, this position may be eligible for medical, dental, vision, retirement and other fringe benefits. Positions that require night, weekend or on‑call work may be eligible for shift differentials or premium pay.
