Job Title: Mechanical Assembler - Hand & Power Tools

Shift: 5:30am-4pm Mon-Thurs (OT available on Fri/Sat)
Pay: $16.50/hr
Location: Ocala, FL (34474)
Position Summary

The Mechanical Assembler is responsible for assembling, installing, and testing mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical components on specialty vehicles and equipment. This role requires the ability to work from blueprints, schematics, work orders, and assembly instructions while ensuring all quality and safety standards are met. The Mechanical Assembler uses a variety of hand and power tools to build and modify components and systems throughout the manufacturing process.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assemble mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical components according to engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, shop orders, diagrams, and work instructions.
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, measuring instruments, and shop equipment safely and effectively.
  • Install and route hoses, fittings, wiring, brackets, pumps, and other vehicle components.
  • Perform troubleshooting and corrective actions on mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
  • Conduct inspections and functional testing to verify proper operation and quality standards.
  • Identify defects, diagnose root causes, and complete required repairs or modifications.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Follow all company safety, quality, and production procedures.
  • Collaborate with team members, supervisors, and other departments to meet production goals.
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Experience in mechanical assembly, manufacturing, automotive, diesel, maintenance, fabrication, or a related field.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and assembly instructions.
  • Experience using hand tools, power tools, and measuring devices.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical components.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience assembling vehicles, heavy equipment, trucks, trailers, or industrial equipment.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Welding or fabrication experience.
  • Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience.
Physical Requirements
  • Frequently lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and climb throughout the workday.
  • Work in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Ability to safely operate tools and equipment while wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE).

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $16.50 - $16.50/hr.
