Duties

Help

• Collaborates with the Commanding Officer, Garrison Manager, and senior leaders to align Directorate goals with installation-level primary missions.
• Advises Garrison Manager and Commander of unusual, unprecedented, or controversial problems and recommends solutions for course of action.
• Proves complex technical, professional, and administrative services to the installation.
• Executes operational, administrative, and technical functions of the Directorate.
• Directs installation engineering design, construction, and facilities maintenance through subordinate supervisors.

• This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
• Financial Disclosure Statement OGE Form 450 is used to assist agencies and employees to avoid conflicts between duties and financial interest. This position requires pre-employment financial disclosure and annually thereafter.
• This position is designated as "Mission Essential". In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
• This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1. Supervising a public works or facilities program to include engineering design, construction, real property, or industrial/facilities maintenance; 2. supervising personnel at all levels to foster organizational best practices; 3. evaluating operational effectiveness by studying the work structure and/or methods; and 4. establishing internal procedures to be followed by subordinates. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-13).
